Make the record useful. Make the work maintainable.
A portal can be built before anyone settles who will publish the next update. Two datasets can describe the same project differently. I help teams resolve those questions, then build or improve the system within an agreed scope.
Start a conversationWhere I can help
Start with the problem the system must solve.
Build something useful.
There is agreement to publish something, but no agreement yet on who needs it, what the first version does, or who runs it when the team moves on.
I help decide what the first version should do, then design and build it where implementation is agreed. That includes data checks and guidance for the people who will look after it.
What you leave withFirst, a build brief that settles the users, the scope, who is responsible for what, and the conditions that have to hold before implementation starts. A working version and operating guidance follow only where implementation is part of the agreed scope.
Built the public infrastructure disclosure portals for Fundo de Estradas in Mozambique and KADPPA in Kaduna State. Both are linked from the documented work on About, with the evidence for my role recorded separately.

Make the records usable.
The records exist but cannot answer a question: fields are missing, two systems disagree, or a team rebuilds the same list by hand every month.
I trace missing fields, disconnected sources, and manual work back to their cause, then identify which changes would help.
What you leave withA diagnosis or mapping: the data problem stated as it actually is, the transformations it needs, and the specific decision the fix would change. Integration or improvements can follow as an agreed piece of work.
Advisory and data-quality support to Malawi's IPPI included indicator design and a published procurement-completeness diagnostic; substantial development support went to Zambia's NCC Infrastructure Publication Portal.
Examples from my work
I provided substantial support to the development of Zambia's NCC Infrastructure Publication Portal. I contributed as a developer to Uganda's Government Procurement Portal and later supported review and improvement work. For Malawi's IPPI, I provided technical advisory and data-quality support, including indicator design, publication diagnostics, and integration assessment.
Make a technical decision.
The options are on the table, but the team still needs to settle what the evidence supports and who has authority to make the call.
I examine the existing work, lay out the options and constraints, and give the decision owner a basis for the call.
What you leave withA decision note or review: the options, the evidence for and against each, the constraints that bound them, and the named owner of the decision. Handover guidance instead, where that is the question we agree to address.
Development input and feedback to the CoST Sekondi-Takoradi information platform in Ghana, and development of an energy-sector early-warning workflow. Both are development work: neither is offered here as evidence of a decision outcome.
Examples from my work
I provided development input and feedback to the CoST Sekondi-Takoradi information platform in Ghana. Read the programme record.
Energy and environmental monitoring: I also developed an early-warning workflow for a dam-monitoring initiative, linking satellite displacement, rainfall, field inputs, alerts, and reports. This describes development work, not operational adoption.

The first conversation
Bring the unresolved question.
Tell me which record, system, or decision needs attention. We can define a first piece of work, its owner, and what would count as a useful result before starting.
